Welcome to the website for the Riverside City Championship Cross Country Course!
WE ARE BACK FOR 2021!
The course is located at the corner of Orange St. and Columbia Ave in North Riverside. Here is a map to the course location
Beginning in 2014, a group of Riverside area coaches led by La Sierra Cross Country Coach Will Jacobsmeyer, envisioned the old Riverside Golf Course as an area cross country course for use by local college; high schools and middle schools to promote the sport. With the help of local businesses like Riverside Construction and Wiest Rentals; with the cooperation of the City of Riverside and Riverside and Alvord Unified School Districts; and the over 2000 hours of labor put in by La Sierra team members and coaches; the course has become a reality. It has been a hard, long road, filled with challenges and obstacles, but through the hard work of a small committee of coaches and helpers, the Riverside City Course has improved every season, and will continue to do so. The commitment of the men and women involved in this course is to make it the premier cross country experience in the CIF (SS).
Since the season of 2017, the Riverside City Course has hosted tens of thousands of runners from Middle School to College. This course hosts four major high school invitationals, the California State Middle School championships, college meets and elementary school meets. It provides separate courses for each level of competition. In addition, the 2016-2019 CIF-SS Cross Country Prelims and Finals were on this site.
